History

Our history

In 2001, our first children, at the age of only 11 years old arrived at Home of Hope to escape a life as a child soldier or just because there was no one else who looked after them. After being brought up at Home of Hope they became independent, educated adults. No child soldier or orphan anymore, but an accountant, a bank employee, a vendor or a truck driver. Proud men and women who are role models for the young children who now live in the Home of Hope. At the beginning we started in a converted chicken coop with only five children. When you visit Home of Hope these days, you will find a real children’s village with seven houses and more than 80 residents. In addition, Home of Hope features an auditorium, a medical clinic, a computer center, a library and even a swimming pool. This is all made possible by our sponsors.

Giving children a safe home, preparing them to stand on their own feet. That is our objective. Since 2001 we have raised over 200 children and gave them a safe and warm home. With loving support and good education. Our motto is: “You cannot not change the world, but you can change the world of a child”.
